No one wants to receive a phone call telling of a loved one’s sudden and unexpected death. The sad fact is, many Alabama residents will answer phone calls like this due to serious motor vehicle accidents involving their family members. Life as they knew it will never be the same as they navigate the devastating aftermaths of the collisions.
A recent tragedy occurred on a state highway that involved three separate vehicles. One of the vehicles was a tractor-trailer. It’s no secret that collisions involving these massive pieces of machinery are often catastrophic, if not fatal.
Sadly, the latter was the case in the incident that took place on a recent Thursday afternoon. A tractor-trailer, a sport utility vehicle and another car collided at approximately 5:30 a.m. near Centerville. A 44-year-old man who was driving the sport utility vehicle, as well as a 46-year-old who was traveling as his passenger at the time, both succumbed to their injuries at the scene of the crash.
In addition to the utter shock and grief that hits families so hard in such situations, Alabama motor vehicle accidents often result in unexpected financial burdens as well. Medical care rendered on site, funeral expenses and other costs families may be completely unprepared to meet can add further devastation to already sorrowful circumstances. An experienced personal injury attorney can help immediate family members seek monetary restitution on behalf of deceased loved ones when other motorists have been deemed negligent in the accidents that resulted in their deaths.
